Mass of organisms (arrow): cysts are
4-8 micron in diameter (slightly smaller than RBCs) and sphericalor cup shaped. In GMS, the cell wall of a cyst stains black, often with the central dark dot.  Trophozoites stain in Wright ,
but not in GMS.
