Mass of organisms (arrow): cysts are
4-8 micron in diameter (slightly smaller than RBCs) and sphericalor cup shaped. The cell wall does not stain
in Wright (Romanovsky) stain.

Trophozoites, up to 8 percyst, are
about 0.5 to 1 micron in diameter. Trophozoites stain in Wright
(tiny purple dots), but not in GMS.
